Entrepreneurship…
June 26, 2008 · 9 Comments

As some of you might know already, my job at ZLiO.com is almost done, I will be leaving my position on July 8th.
I enjoyed a lot working for ZLiO and most of all, working for Jeremie Berrebi, who is an amazing Entrepreneur / Visionary. I’ve learnt a lot about the Internet World, met a lot (I mean A LOT) of fascinating people, and became even more efficient in Business Development and Online Marketing.
Anyways, every good thing must come to an end, I’m moving on to my next challenge, and this is going to be the most difficult one so far, since I’m starting my own Web Company!
I’ve obviously had tons of startup ideas since I started working on the Internet 3 years ago, but few of them sticked to my mind over the time. One did. And it’s going to become a reality. Soon. Very soon actually.
We’re two Co-Founders : Aric, CTO the tech guy, and myself, CEO the business guy.
I cannot disclose anything about the project yet, but the private beta will be released soon, if you wanna be part of it, leave me your email in the comments, and I’ll make sure you get in.
This is the beginning of a big adventure, and I’ve never been that excited about what’s coming up in my career. The path to success is still far away, but I truly believe I can make it!
Stay tuned…

Seesmic is onto something…
June 20, 2008 · 1 Comment
Congrats to the whole team, that just announced a series B of $6M.
I had a chance to meet with Loic while in SF, and the guy has charisma, an amazing vision and a high end network. He is building an empire around Video. Vinvin, his partner, is the king of content. Together, they will turn Seesmic into a Silicon Valley Blockbuster. No doubt.
Pierre Omidyar (eBay Founder) and Wellington Partners (Eric Archambeau) are the new (lucky) investors.

Tariq is leaving Netvibes
May 29, 2008 · No Comments
I’ve been a fan of Netvibes.com since Day 1. And I always am.
I met with Tariq by chance at the W Union Square Hotel in New York 6 months after Netvibes’ launch, he was in the middle of a Press Tour in the US. He was totally amazed that someone could recognize him in a Hotel’s lobby 6 months after Netvibes launched. Well, it’s me, I know the faces of all the CEOs of the web/mobile services I’m using :).
We discussed for 2 hours about Netvibes, he showed me the new features that they were about to release, and I did a demo of the mobile app I was “developing” at that time, he liked it, so I kept working on it!
Since then, we stayed in touch virtually, and I always liked his vision of Netvibes, and the Web.
Now Tariq is leaving Netvibes, and Freddy Mini is becoming the new CEO. For having met Freddy while I was on a business trip for Zlio, I can tell you, he’s gonna make it happen, I felt right away the business acumen, and the pragmatism of the guy. We had a great talk, and I am confident he’s the right guy for the situation, and I believe they’re on the right path to become profitable sooner or later.
It’s not going to be an easy transition, but hey, what’s easy nowadays?
Congrats Freddy, and good luck to you Tariq!
